We were on Anna Maria Island for vacation and were heading to the Sandbar for a Monday night dinner, but found the parking lot completely packed. So we decided to try someplace else. I had picked up a brochure menu for Island Gourmet Grill and thought a lot of the items looked pretty good, so we decided to try it. What great fortune! We had an absolutely fantastic meal. My wife & I both ordered specials for the evening. I had their potato & leek soup with pancetta - it was perfect, with subtle flavors and not overly rich. My wife started with a Caesar salad, which was also delicious. For entrees, my wife had a crab and lobster stuffed portobello mushroom and absolutely loved it - again perfectly seasoned and not heavy at all and not too rich. I had the grilled mahi-mahi with a light mustard sauce. Mahi is so easy to overcook, but this was cooked perfectly done and juicy, and the sauce was used sparingly, so it complemented the fish and didn't overpower it. Delicious! I kept taking smaller & smaller bites so as to savor each taste - I could have sat there all night with this dish! Both entrees came with oven-roasted potato wedges and al dente grilled vegetables -both delicious, too. I wondered why the place wasn't packed - I guess it has gone thru a few owners recently, but I think we've hit the jackpot. Come on, Anna Maria folks - give Island Gourmet Grill a try. You won't be disappointed. We only get to Florida every couple of years - we can't wait to get back and dine here again. It's definitely on our preferred list.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR PIZZA!!!!!! Waiting for my pizza that I called ahead 40 mins ago.... It's still not done. I'm the only customer in the joint! They gave me a complimentary WATER while I waited! the service is a joke, hope the pizza is good.... Pizza looks like someone threw up in a box.... Okay so they tried to make up for their mistakes: gave us complimentary desert and a free pizza. All in all... Don't go here.

We had a large group and all were very happy with their meals. We started with oysters on the half shell, crab and artichoke dip gratin with homemade tostado chips for dipping; the chopped salad was huge- enough for 3 people. Sangria was a large pour and very refreshing! Tyler loved his bouillabaisse and couldn't finish the portion was so large. White pizza, Italian pizza Tuscan chicken all highly recommend. Atmosphere was delightful and our server wanted me to make sure and spell her name correctly- SandJay. Outstanding experience! Take your whole group they are more than accommodating. Comfy couches outside if that's your preference. Next time we are sampling the wines!

Not sure why the reviews on yelp are so negative, yet the trip advisor reviews are very positive. We had a great experience here. Salads, firecracker shrimp, wings, pasta, steaks, and pizza were all great. Only downside is that there is no liquor sales, only beer and wine.

Came here at the recommendation of a friend. Just came for lunch, so didn't experience the dinner crowd or their drinks-but lunch was delicious (oh yeah and we were the only ones there!). Had a shrimp quesadilla and it was probably the best I've ever had. Caprese salad was delicious also! Would return.

Had the Shrimp ducky (shrimp, duck, and prosciutto over rice) and the wife had the Shrimp and Scallop Carbonara. The ONLY complaint I had was both of our plates came out warm (not hot, not cold). Other than that, the flavor was fantastic and seafood cooked perfectly!

Let me start by saying I rarely leave reviews and pretty much always tip 20%. I understand things happen but there was no excuse for my one and definitely only experience here. We sat right away (in season which is impressive) and got our drinks pretty quickly. Then we sat. And sat. And sat. Our waiter didn't check in at all with us even though both our waters and drinks were empty. We finally got bread and then waited about 30 more minutes for our appetizer to come out. I understand kitchens get backed up but there should be some kind of service to improve the experience. There was none. I asked for another beer and another 15 minutes went by with nothing. Our waiter (who we saw a total of maybe twice) didn't even acknowledge there was a problem. We heard another server tell her table that they had a small kitchen so they would be waiting a while. Long story short we won't be going back which is a shame because it's a cute place but the service and wait times were terrible and the food was ok but not something I would normally wait hours for.

Great food. Pizza was done nicely with thin crust. Owner has invested in a Vulcan pizza oven. Food was quick and consistent both times I ate here. People working here are friendly. Would definitely recommend this place!

Red sauce is so bland, lacks any flavor just taste like tomato paste with red pepper flakes in it. Chicken Parmesan was bland as well. Tuscan chicken was pretty good. Burger was dry and overlooked. Meatballs were AWEFUL, couldn't get the kids to eat it and I understood once I tried them, just aweful. Even worse they used a spicy red sauce in the "kids plate" spaghetti and meatballs so my five and seven year old were complaining about burning mouths after a bite or two. Entrees were $16-25. service was good and helpful but I would never go back for the food.

We enjoy this restaurant each year! The food is amongst the best on the island. The food is freshly prepared - taste wonderfully. The eggplant lasagna was a family favorite! The service and owners are very accommodating!

Love this place! I go out if my way to go here and wish I lived closer. Food is Really good. Server tonight was awesome! Veggie stack app was really good and the steamed middle necks and diver scallops were great as well. Great night overall.

I have just returned from a meal here. Unfortunately, the food here is just...bad. Really bad. The worst calamari I can remember eating. Rubbery and tasteless breading. I had a chicken pasta dish that was simply not edible. It tasted sort of like a frozen/microwave entree...but worse. My parents had the tuna special and the fish tacos. Both were edible but not good. Even the butter that came with the bread was tasteless. Out server was friendly, so thats a plus. But he didn't seem to care that I only ate a few bites of my meal. I would, without question, look to eat elsewhere. The food quality just isn't here.

What a great experience!! We came in on Saturday evening and sat at the bar and had dinner. I ordered the chicken chev and my husband had the chicken piccata. Both meals were very good. We tried the crab cakes for an appetizer. They were cooked perfectly with nice chunks of crab meat. For dessert, we shared a s'mores. Oh yeah, try that when you go. The pizza looked very good. I'll have to try that next time. Friendly staff and great service!

My husband ordered to go and had the grilled grouper with vegetables. It was super fresh and delicious!! He had key lime pie was ok. The pizzas look delicious so we will have to come back and try one! They have a nice wine selection and nice outdoor seating. I wish it were on the water but not everyone can be. We had lunch today & I had the grilled veggie sandwich & my husband had the blackened mahi sandwich with fries & they were both delicious!!

I'm not sure if this pizza was part of an April Fools joke, but the joke was definitely on us. My family and I ordered 2 pizzas that were more grease than food. We asked for double pepperoni and hardly got a single serving of them. The bottom of the crust was chewy and difficult to tear apart. Did I mention the grease? The pizzas are way overpriced and we didn't even get what we asked for. Keep looking if you want a decent pizza experience.

I tried to like the food here, especially based on the reviews on trip advisor and a few on here. The owners try hard to please, and are very nice. Inside and out front are nicely presented and quiet. However, my entree was bland and needs to be stepped up on spices and flavor, it was also only luke warm, which was disappointing. I doused it with salt, pepper & parm to make it more tasty. My husband's entree had a bit more flavor. Desert was key lime pie, and was just ok, could be more tangy lime flavor. Makes me nervous to try the pizza, but they looked good coming out of the kitchen. Not sure if they have a "chef" there, or just cooks in the kitchen trying.

Our family had lunch here on a recent vacation to AMI. The service was slow but hey, we were on island time so we didn't mind. The food was delicious. We had a wide variety from the Caprese Salad to burgers, pizza, and wraps. The server and owner were friendly and we would definitely return! Large selection of great wine also. This is a restaurant that seems to care what you think and is constantly trying to improve. That gets my vote to keep returning.

We were there a couple weeks ago and had a wonderful experience. There were 7 adults in our group, and all of us were very happy with what we ordered. We were treated very graciously from the moment we walked in the door. One in our group said the fresh oysters were the best he's ever had, and he's eaten oysters all over the world. Will definitely be back next year

Pizza was great NYC Style. We ordered a XL 16" with pep & sausage. Staff when calling in to order was very uninformed on menu items not able to answer questions. Took the advice of other yelpers to pick up and was told pick up times the same as delivery. They missed the estimated delivery time by over 20 minutes, when I called to follow up they stated it was in the oven. It is spring break so no complaints, it was a good pie once it arrived.

Perfect! My wife and I had not been here in awhile, even though we are locals, but after reading some of the recent reviews we thought we would try it again. I had the wasabi encrusted snapper with coconut sauce and garlic mashed potatoes while my wife had the calzone. Both were perfectly prepared and very tasty. I asked about serving the whole fish (head on) as I prefer it, and was told to just call ahead and they would be happy to accommodate as they buy their fish fresh daily. The service was excellent and the prices reasonable. We will definately return and will bring friends with us next time. A shout-out to Scott the new owner... best of luck to you on your new Island venture!

Mediocre pizza and pasta. Friendly waitress, but she seemed overworked and hassled; I think she was the only server, and even though there were only two tables dining while we were there, she seemed stressed. Major turn-off: They add an 18% gratuity into your bill, even with a small family...tacky.

I had high hopes for this place. The menu sounded great. We had 3 couples order food to go. I am in the restaurant business and the people I travel with are very good cooks. We ordered a different assortment of items. I ordered a burger which I found good, nothing special but still the best thing we ordered. I also got calamari. I don't know what I was thinking. I know better than to get Calamari to go but I was willing to see if they have mastered the to-go Calamari. It usually gets over cooked or the breading falls apart due to the condensation from putting it in a to go container. The calamari was over cooked and chewy. I don't fault them for that. The flavor of the breading I do, it had none. The sauce that came with the calamari was good. The other couple got the scampi pasta dish and said they had to add things to give it flavor but not worth the money they paid. My partner ordered a calzone. Holy cow it was huge and she said it was good. We ordered the kids pizza and they seemed to like it. The third couple had artichoke dip that had no flavor. So I would just recommend getting the pizza and burger.

I wouldn't come back here next year and say "whoa, we've GOT to get that pizza again." But if somebody was asking about pizza on Anna Maria Island, I'd recommend this place. The location is casual--two medium-sized rooms with bars in each stocked with wine. Its probably like any strip-mall italian restaurant you've ever visited. When we were there the phone didn't stop ringing--they apparently also deliver. The pizza can be loosly called "New York style"--thin crust, all the toppings you want to add. Tasty, crunchy crust that crumbles as you bite.

I liked the pizza, it was much better than the Domino's I'd had from next door a couple of days earlier. Got carry-out so I can't comment on much else, but for a pepperoni pizza it was good. Fast too.

My husband and I split a large pizza and agreed it was some of the best pizza we'd ever had. Thin, good crust, nice seasoning, and the right amount of grease. NYC style. Lots of people around us were having pasta, and it looked good as well.
